Yale Pink and Blue Study What is the Yale Pink and Blue Study? The Yale Pink and Blue Study was funded by The National Institutes
of Health and was conducted across Connecticut
and Western Massachusetts in partnership with
obstetricians and delivery hospitals. This study looked at feelings and
emotions during pregnancy in order to understand how these may or may not
influence mother and baby. Participation in the study consisted of 3 interviews. The first interview was done face-to-face prior to the 17th week of pregnancy. The second interview was done over the telephone between the 28th and 30th week of pregnancy and the third and final interview was conducted over the telephone approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the baby was born. Signed medical release forms were obtained from all study participants allowing study staff to obtain birth outcome information from labor and delivery medical records.
